About Us

Located in the town of Wingham, Ontario, Schenk Legal is a full-service general practice firm ready to help you with your legal needs. We are part of the Huron County Bar association and are active throughout Southwestern Ontario.

The firm consists of lawyers: John Schenk and Virginia Schenk, and legal assistants: Pamela Martin, and Colleen Conley.

John W. Schenk LL.B.

John attended York University with a focus in business and psychology, graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1977.

John is a past president of the Huron County Bar Association and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Association. He has also been involved in a variety of regulatory bodies, under the Regulated Health Professions Act of Ontario, including the College of Occupational Therapists and the College of Respiratory Therapists. He served as vice-president of both colleges, and as chairman of discipline and fitness to practice hearings for the College of Respiratory Therapists.

John was a town councillor for the town of Wingham, now the township of North Huron, for 6 years. He has served on the board of a number of community organizations including: the Wingham & District Hosptial Board, the Wingham Day Care Centre Board, the Huron County Habitat for Humanity (Founding Member), and The Huron County United Way (Founding Member).

John has also been involved in numerous political campaigns at the Federal and Provincial levels. In his time-off, John enjoys spending time with his family.

Virginia M. Schenk LL.B.

Virginia attended the University of Toronto and graduated with an honours bachelor of arts in English, Political Science and Drama in 2005. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2008, and was called to the bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2009.

During law school, Virginia served on the executive committee of the Osgoode International Law Association, and as a representative on CLASP – the Community Legal Aid Service Project. Her team won second place in the Fasken Martineau International Law Moot, Virginia was awarded the Evidence Award, she won first place in the Learner’s Cup Moot, and she was chosen to represent Osgoode at the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition. Virginia is a former member of the teaching team for the “Lawyer as Negotiator” course at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Virginia served on the board of directors of the Wingham and District Community Living Association and is Past-President of the Huron-Bruce Federal Association of a major political party.

In her time off, Virginia enjoys travel, cooking, politics, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Virginia is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations and is on the Board of Directors of the Huron County Bar Association.
